Llama-trekking

Hiking Without Carrying Much Weight on Your Back

After an introduction to handling our llamas, we will take you on various tours deep into the beautiful northern Scandinavian mountains. We will hike along large lakes, cross rivers, and move through the untouched landscapes of the Scandinavian fjell. You will breathe the fresh air of the far north without having to carry a heavy load on your back! We walk along the paths of moose and reindeer, and if we’re lucky, we might see traces of wolverines and lynxes. The vastness of nature is both exciting and relaxing, and the exceptional light conditions of Northern Europe will captivate you.

Llama Experience

The Llama experience takes center stage in our tours. The collaboration between people and the packed llamas fosters deep friendships and leads to truly special nature experiences! Almost all of the group’s equipment is distributed among the llamas’ pack bags, with participants carrying only personal items and a small amount of provisions on their backs. Each participant will have the opportunity to lead and care for the llamas along the way.

Who Can Join?

No prior experience in handling llamas is necessary. Our tours are open to anyone who has the fitness level required for hiking or biking. On the first day after your arrival, you will receive a thorough introduction to leading the animals and working with the llamas. Additionally, you need to be willing to pitch in with general tasks!

And Most Importantly!

You should, of course, have a fondness for animals, as this is a prerequisite. During your tour, you will work closely with your four-legged teammates and become good friends. However, you are not allowed to take our beloved animals home after the tour!

Good to know

Forces of Nature

Our trekking tours are adapted to the wind and weather conditions. The unpredictable Nordic nature plays a significant role in this.

Leading a Llama

During our guided tours, we aim to bring you as close to llama trekking as possible. Participants will lead one or more llamas during the tour and can take turns in guiding the animals. This way, everyone gets the chance to walk alongside these charming four-legged companions while also enjoying moments of free hiking.

This allows for a genuine appreciation of the cooperation between humans and animals, as well as a deeper connection with nature.
